It's going to be a good weekend for reading! First on my list, Bookshare.org (see my post in July) has come through with lightning speed and I've already downloaded a digital copy of Merlin's Keep from their library. So very excited to reread this old favorite.
I'm also excited to find another old favorite in the Kindle store and ready for my desktop app or Kindle Fire to read to me. Here's a pic of my old, abandoned by my junior high school library copy that has traveled with me across seventeen different states.
Has anyone else read this? No? Come on, I've been waiting since 7th grade to talk about this book with someone!! Perhaps it was growing up in Southeastern Michigan (Back to the Bricks and The Woodward Dream Cruise ring any bells?), or it's simply because almost everyone I knew in high school spent hours working on their cars and then testing them out on back country roads. But the descriptions in this book are so real to me I can hear the whine of Max's engine and smell the exhaust.
Now you know what I'm reading. What are you reading this weekend?
