Still searching for this old friend.

Yep. Another old and cherished re-read that I cannot find in an accessible format. I had my fingers crossed for Amazon and a digital version, but sadly, there's only another paperback copy to be found. And neither Bookshare.org or the NLS Talking Books Library can help me out this time.

From the back cover: An Air Force transport has crashed high atop America's tallest and most inaccessible peak. Against impossible odds, Lieutenant Gary Palmer begins an ascent up the treacherous slopes of Mt. Kota as part of the Army's three-man lifesaving team.

But nothing can prepare the young soldier for the horror that awaits above. Trapped in an inescapable web of murder and betrayal, of chemical warfare and living death, Palmer uncovers a sinister secret nestled at the mountain summit.

A terrifying experiment transforms a daring rescue mission into a frantic race for survival as Palmer finds himself facing almost certain death at the hands of the most unexpected predator of all: the United States government!

See why I want to read it again so bad? It's kind of like the movie, The Crazies, but on a mountain. With bits of military, and a hint of romance.

This is one of those books I've reread so many times, I can *almost* tell myself the story. But, I sure would like an opportunity to read the whole thing again. I guess I'll keep searching.

What's one of your favorite re-reads?
